Observe Memorial Day
Looking for something to do this Memorial Day weekend?  Join the Joliet Combined KSKJ Lodges as we partake in the American Fraternal Alliance's Join Hands Day project on Saturday, May 26, 2012.

On Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, we remember those who have died in our nation's service.  On Saturday, May 26, we will continue the tradition by placing over 1,000 U.S. flags at St. Joseph's and St. Mary Nativity's cemeteries.

Times and Locations (Rain or Hopefully Shine).
  • St. Joseph Cemetery (on Raynor Ave in Joliet) starting around 9:00am
  • St. Mary Nativity (on W Caton Farm Rd in Crest Hill) starting around 10:00am
To help honor those, especially for those who have no one to honor them, join us on Saturday morning.  Choose to help at either location or both.  No reservations are not needed but are encouraged by e-mailing jolietkskjlodges@gmail.com

The flags were donated by an anonymous donor specifically for this event.

The annual memorial mass celebrates the members of the Joliet KSKJ community at a special devotion to Marija Pomagaj – Mary Help of Christians – patroness of Slovenians and KSKJ Life.

The mass will be held on Tuesday, May 22 at 6:00pm at St. Joseph’s Church (416 N. Chicago St., Joliet, IL).

After the mass, refreshments will be served in Ferdinand Hall (adjacent to the church).
